Cabin at Night Time

The Area (Winter)

At eleven miles east of Ashton, Idaho and nine miles from the south west corner of Yellowstone Park, Quiet Acres is ideally located for winter recreation. The Fremont County guide to "Winter Recreation Trails" shows Junction 81 as only 300 yards from the cabin. You can ride from the Junction 81 to Island Park, Yellowstone Park, Flagg Ranch, and Jackson Hole, WY. You will find the trails less crowded than in the Island Park area. Gas and other services are available at Elk Ranch, 2 1/2 miles from the cabin.

Cross country skiers will find groomed trails only two miles away at Fall River Ridge, and the Bear Gulch area is only nine miles. Purists will find two wilderness areas only ten miles from the cabin. Grand Targee Resort is a 45 minute drive for those who wish a downhill experience.

The Area (Summer)

The area is a hunter and fisherman's paradise. The blue ribbon "Henrys Fork River" is only a few miles away. The Fall and Warm rivers are only two miles distant. There are also numerous other streams and lakes that dot the area. The Targee Forest is famous for its hunting possibilities. Mesa Fall (higher than Niagara) is nine miles away and is one of the prettiest spots in the world. A challenging nine hole golf course has been carved out of the Lodge Pole forest two miles from Quiet Acres. Temperatures in the summer rarely go above the mid eighties.
